Pat Harkins Classic

July 12, 2022

The Pat Harkins Classic was originally a 6-game sweeper staged at the Coliseum Recreation in the central Illinois town of Bloomington. Fifty miles away in Champaign, the McMillan Classic operated on the same schedule, and the two events advertised as The Twin Classics. The result was a strong entry of top-flight bowlers in pre-PBA days. The Harkins went to 5-games in 1960. Both the Harkins and the McMillan ceased operations after the 1966 tournaments.
