Central States Bowling Tournament

The Central States Bowling Association was founded at a meeting of Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky proprietors in 1919.  A total of 125 teams bowled in the first tournament, held at Cincinnati between December 19, 1919 and January 4, 1920.  Within a few years the tournament was attracting bowlers from throughout the Midwest.  Entries stayed strong through the 1950s, then declined as top-level bowling transitioned into an individual sport.  The Central States Bowling Tournament suspended operations after the 1962-63 event.
