January 21, 2015Bomar won both ends of the Petersen Classic–the regular Chicago edition, and the “traveling” Buffalo version–and banked a record $10,100 in prize money. Oddly enough, though he was elected Bowler of the Year, he earned only a Second Team spot on the Bowlers Journal All-Americans.
The #10 man on the list, Bowlers Journal publisher Mort Luby, received a strong vote for his integrity. When he found that his tournament director had attempted to manipulate the standings in the Bowlers Journal Singles Tournament, Luby exposed the scandal and fired the man responsible.
