  1. George LeCain Says:

I made a “living or dead” list of all bowlers who appeared on Championship Bowling. I could not determine if the following were alive: Jerry McCoy, Bill Pace, Jack Aydelotte, Johnny Meyer, Stan Gifford. I accounted for all the rest. Do you have any information on those 5?

    • J.R. Schmidt Says:

Jack Aydelotte died in 2015 at the age of 89. I’m not sure about the others. You might want to check the online Social Security Death Index.

I believe both Stan Gifford & Bill Pace are gone but don’t know about the others. Is Ed Bourdase still alive?

    • J.R. Schmidt Says:

I double-checked, and found that Bill Pace died on July 15, 1988. I think Bourdase is still alive.

UPDATE—Eric Hartman, one of the authors of Historical Dictionary of Bowling, has been tracking down old bowlers. Eric tells we that Ed Bourdase is still alive at 88, and still bowls in two leagues. Way to go!

  3. Frank Schmitt Says:

Do you know what year Bill Pace was born?

  4. Frank Schmitt Says:

Thanks for the info on Ed Bourdase. He’s one of the few from that era who’s still around. However, I believe I read somewhere that his son (Mark?) passed away recently.
