Abe Lincoln Goes Bowling

Lincoln Goes Bowling

Yes, our 16th president did bowl.  In 1847-48, while serving in the U.S. House of Representatives, Lincoln often bowled with other congressmen at a Washington hotel called the Congress Hall Refectory.

Maybe if Abe had spent more time bowling & less time at the theater, he would’ve lived longer.

  2. Michael Rabich Says:

Nixon was described as avid bowler and there are pictures of him bowling though not much is known about his scores. There are reports of George W Bush and Obama bowling, supposedly Barack is pretty bad. Of course The White House alley was built for Truman, I wonder who is the best bowler among our presidents?

    • J.R. Schmidt Says:

From what I’ve read, Nixon was probably the best bowler among our presidents. Not very good PR for the sport.
