Interesting that in the photo, Joan Karge appears to be the only team bmember, ‘out-of-uniform’ as of the 4 others that you can see, their Allgauer’s ‘uniform blouses’ have their initials on them. It looks like Joan borrowed one from Mary Lou for the picture.

Tony Lindemann told me that when he was captain of the Stroh’s Beer team, one of his duties was getting the bowling uniforms to the cleaners and picking them up for each league session. Maybe the Allgauer captain missed Joan’s blouse. Or maybe it was Joan’s mistake—I’ve seen a picture of Ned Day in a group shot at the All-Star Tournament, and Ned is wearing a shirt that says “Buddy Bomar.”

Bobbie Shaler doesn’t have initials on her shirt. I sure wouldn’t like to wear a shirt that said “B.S.”

Point taken, Carol Anne. Maybe some time I’ll share the tale of when I saw Buddy Bomar changing into his “TV garb” in the coat room at Faetz-Neisen . . must have been in the late 50’s – early 60’s. JRS. LOL
