    I wonder how often JFK used these lanes. He was noted for having a bad back & bowling isn’t recommended for people who have back issues.

      The lanes were installed when Truman was president, around 1947. Ned Day and Buddy Bomar came to D.C. for the opening ceremonies, and a photo-op with the president. Nixon used them the most. As for JFK, I don’t know if he bowled; but he played a lot of golf before he was president, and had a single-digit handicap.
