    He was on his son’s podcast in the months before he passed. It was a very good interview, Billy discussed a variety of things, including his faith, family, and playing professionally with debilitating arthritis for years until he just couldn’t hold a ball any more. It was a very sweet, interesting interview. It’s called the Nerdist podcast and it’s available on iTunes & other outlets.

      I met Billy Hardwick once, at Mort Luby Jr’s retirement party. Great guy, very funny. He admired my wife’s necklace, talked her into selling it to him, then called his own wife on his cell-phone to tell her about the nice lady who’d let him buy it. I wish I’d met him sooner.
