That is just beautiful….
My uncle, Charlie “Dutch” Burmann, used to own the Playdium. Not sure if that was in the ’30s or ’40s. Does anyone remember him?
Ive yet to see anything on Norridge Lanes, just west of Oketo on the north side of Irving. Don Carter Dick Weber Carmen Salvino, came there several time s and had mini tournaments with the local bowlers,my Dad was one of them
I bowled at Norridge, too, but I don’t think I ever bothered to take a picture.
I remember go to Playdium to get out of the cold, when it was to cold to hang out at the Conner of Whightwood&Orchard .Anyone have pictures of the Lakeview bowling Fire?
Didn’t the Playdium have a really good Mexican restaurant in the same space? The flautas were outstanding, and one ate dinner accompanied by the music of the falling pins. 🙂
The restaurant was called El Mexicano. It’s visible on one of my earliest posts, March 23, 2009.
